Hi all,

I have not posted for awhile because I have been having a real hard time with

attack after attack. It is either one big one that won't go away or I am having

them every day for the past 8 weeks.

Anyway, I will make this short. I am looking for a new Internist to take over

my care as my doc decided that he doesn't want to prescribe pain medication

anymore! I have called 3 pain managment docs and NONE of them prescribe pain

pills!! I know that this is a horrible thing for all of us. Where do we go?

I take Morphine 100 mg twice a day alternating with OxyContin 80 mg twice a day

every three months. I take 8 Percocet per day for breakthrough and Phenergan

for nausea.

I have a list of all my medications, allergies, surgeries, doctors names, etc.

to take to my appointment tomorrow morning to " interview " this new doc. She has

a good reputation and her office staff have been extremely nice. When I made

the appointment they asked what I would be seeing her for primarily and I

mentioned CP and the office girl said, " She sees a lot of CP patients. That is

not a problem. " I am hoping for the best!! I could really use a break right

now. I am also taking my most current lab work and CT scan reports. I just had

a fasting C-Peptide test and it was high. Do any of you know anything about

this?

I would appreciate any input as to what to take, talk about, etc. to my

perspective new doc tomorrow.

Thank you!

T. (ohio)

Hey , I am with you in spirit as you go through this debacle. I have

been there too. The DEA has docs so afraid anymore that they don't even

treat their patients with compassion and care. What a shitty situation. I

have often wondered what I would do if some doc tried to pull all the drugs

I am taking. Not a pretty prospect. Hang in there. It sounds like you found

a good one.

All the Best,

Jerry/NC

,

A high level on the C-peptide test indicates that you have high levels

of insulin in your bloodstream. Quite often this can be indicative of

insulin resistance, which is what Type 2 diabetics suffer from.

To learn more about the C-Peptide test, go to this weblink:

http://www.labtestsonline.org/

Type in " c-peptide " in the search block and it will tell you all you

want to know about the test and the results.

With love, hope and prayers,
