Guest guest
Hello All, I've noticed that a lot of us have been writing in to the group and discussing how our doctors are getting paranoid about writing our prescriptions at levels that will manage our daily pain. Most of us know that is a direct result of the DEA and their policies. Of course, the " drug war " (I place that in quotes because it is a joke) is not going well for them. Interdiction is not working and they (DEA) are not making a dent in the illegal drug traffic that plagues our country. So what they have done is to go after doctors and interfere with the treatment of legitimate patients such as ourselves. I consider that a travesty. Anyway, if you would like to do something about that, there are a number of public interest groups that are working to stop the DEA's harassment of legitimate, caring physicians. Look them up on the Internet and get involved. It's the only way to stop them. Best Regards, Jerry/NC

I just have to but in with my opinion here. I think the DEA has found an easy way to show they are busy folks by tapping into the pharmacy computer systems. I have found that my pharmacy, one of many in a large chain, could track my meds and likely the script writting doctor for over a year in about ten seconds. I know that it would be very easy and cheap to query this system and determine just which doctor wrote scripts for which meds over a long time period. Find a high script writer and then investigate. The doctors just don't want or need the hassle of any investigation, too much opportunity for something bad to happen. And, too time consuming with no pay-off for the doctor. While the sought after player in this game is likely psuedoephedren scripts, it would be so very easy to track narcotic meds at the same time. Just makes be want to begin growing my own poppy field, maybe not a bad idea anyway. Anyway, just had to chime in. Guest guest
Jerry, If our Mds have documented reasons for prescribing pain medications, then why are they so scared? I know there are people who drug seek, but documented cases of really sick people? Why would the MD get in trouble for helping really sick people? w Wisconsin Jerry Pople wrote: Hello All, I've noticed that a lot of us have been writing in to the group and discussing how our doctors are getting paranoid about writing our prescriptions at levels that will manage our daily pain. Guest guest
Poncho and Jerry, So the sick patient suffers, not right.... The system needs an overhaul, thats for sure. But in the meantime, the MDs just need to stand up to them and fight for their patients. Just like they have to do with the Insurance companies. w --------------------------------- Yahoo!
