Guest guest
I have received a phone call from a gentleman from Long Island, New York. He has " undiagnosed " chronic pancreatitis most likely caused from ten years of Depakote and lithium he had been on due to uncontrolled hypothyroidism. He went to the Cleveland Clinic b ut was not given the diagnosis. I have heard this from many others, as well. It seems the Cleveland Clinic uses a six point diagnostic system for diagnosing chronic pancreatitis. I invite those who have been to the Cleveland Clinic to clarify this, as I have not been there. At any rate, we do not have a New York Representative at this time, so anyone who lives in or near Long Island, please see if you can help this man. Additionally, if you have medication induced pancreatitis, he said he would be interested in talking to you, too. Mark Applewhite _markcolumbus@..._ (mailto:markcolumbus@...) Guest guest
I am from upstate NY (Rochester) and I do have excellent doctors. While he may not want to travel upstate i can give their names and maybe they have downstate contacts. I see a Dr. Anil Sharma with Gastroenterology Group of Rochester, the phone number is . The University of Rochester/Strong memorial hospital also has a specialist named Asad Ullah who my doctor plans to refer me to when the time for more than maintenance is needed (he currently feels that if we keep the attacks of severe pain to a minimum and me out of the hospital it isn't worth risking an ERCP and major attack). Dr. Ullah's phone number . The univeristy is a medical school and hospital together and have alot of very good programs including transplantation teams (the hospital is certified in liver transplants, heart transplantation and I think pancreas also). I don't know if any of this helps him but it is some information. Theresa > > I have received a phone call from a gentleman from Long Island, New York.
