Guest guest
I posted before asking for advice for our upcoming trip, where we are planning to drive from Salt Lake City to Twin Falls, Idaho. My parents and my husband are concerned that the drive might be dangerous. Can anyone let me know about the condition of roads through there? Any tips? I know somebody posted that they were from Idaho but I could not locate the post. Is it any safer driving from Boise to Twin Falls? We are just trying to make the trip as economical as possible and it is cheaper to fly into Salt Lake City. Thank you, B. Guest guest
Hi , Wish I was going to Idaho!! I lived in northern Idaho for 3 1/2 years over twenty years ago, and the one thing I remember about driving conditions in winter is: black ice. You don't see it until you're on it and it can be deadly. Roads can be curvy, and because you're in Rocky Mountain territory, steep. But remember, I lived in northern Idaho (ton). I made trips to Boise but not to Twin Falls, so I don't know firsthand about travel from SLC to TF. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Yes, it was me. Both ways are adequate and flat unless a severe storm. SLC to Boise is longer, still flat and up about the border in Snowville there is about nothing but a store and in storms can get slushy (Personal experience). Boise to Twin is 2 hours... about half the time, more traveled and a much better road. My best guess if there are storms you likely pass through both but if it is just a choice for being better, quicker and more traveled for clearer road and safer incase you break down it would be Boise to Twin. Neither one have extreme hills or passes you would need to worry about. --------------------------------- Be a better pen pal. Text or chat with friends inside Yahoo! Mail. See how. Guest guest
Thank you, . We drove through the Rockies on our way from Chicago to Los Angeles so we were a little concerned. Some of the grades were very scary and we made the trip in summer so we were a little nervous. Flying into Salt Lake City will save us hundreds of dollars on air fare, so that is why we were wondering. We will make sure to rent an SUV or some similar vehicle near the airport. Thank you! B.
