Guest guest
Cyn, I read your story and recalled very similar experiences with my twin boys when we tried GF/CF in elementary school. The class was full of pizzas, sodas, chips on all occasions.... and there were my and Connor with their rice cakes and water. That's why we dumped the GF/CF, it was too heartbreaking. Fast forward to high school. They are currently in 9th grade and go to school in San Diego...The teachers are all on board with us and SCD...and even some parents are asking me questions....point of story is that our school district has implemented that no food may be brought to classes (other than lunches). No Halloween candy, no Christmas goodies...nada. Then, when they go on a field trip and say Mcs is involved, the teachers let me know ahead of time and I go pick the boys up from school and we go to the dollar store where they can buy whatever they want and eat their veggie-turkey burger and butternut squash french fries en-route. I then deliver the boys back to school very happy and content with no Mcs involved.. I am hoping more school districts adopt this policy. I am so sick of holidays, birthdays, field trips being centered around food.. It's no wonder all these kids have all these problems.. my 2 cents Cherie..SCD 2 months and rockin on!! **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products. From my experience, it seems they start training them at school to start with the junk food at the tender age of 3. No wonder also that so many adults have health probs...which probably explains the administrative/mainstream acceptance of a bad diet at many schools. This summer his school offered a breakfast program, and they were eating pancakes with syrup, sugary juice, etc. They wanted my son at school to be in time for this. I would feed him beforehand and we would watch everyone else eat. At that time, he was " just " GF/CF/SF. I only did that a couple times, and told them we would be coming to school after breakfast from then on. Cyn >
