Guest guest
WOW! what a ride. The MGB is the greatest thing any person has ever done for me... it has given me back my life...it has been two months now...I have lost 60 pounds, started out at 280 now 220...I'm back into several clothes that I retired about 10 years ago, right after I got married... I have made so many new MGB friends, so I'm also thankful for that, some I think will become life long, you know who you are Terri and Rob...and yes I'm one of those people that can eat anything now... even candy once in a blue moon. It's been a learning experience for me... because I have to chew the food now before I swallow (LOL)...also I have to be more aware of how much I have eaten at one time...I've heard many post-op say this but it is so true..some days I can eat which seems like a lot...and other days I go 6 or 7 hours and remember I haven't eaten at all.. this is so weird for me because I was one of those people that had to eat at 7 when I got up and 12 when it was time to eat (LOL) and 5 when I got home and then what ever I could find before I went to bed and what ever I just wanted in-between those time...I have to say it has been much easier for me because my wife had the MGB a day before I did...and going through it as a couple has bonded us even more than we ever thought possible. My stomach still cramps sometimes when I go to the bathroom after I eat raw onions or very spicy foods...but it's really not all that bad... because I use to have soooooooooooo many gastric problems before MGB...I will remember the ten days at Durham because it gave me a new life...I would like to publicly thank God for giving Dr. R. Skills to do the MGB and Dr. R. for being a great surgeon and being true to himself... This was what I was looking for and with the help of God I found it...It's so great to feel incontrol when it comes to food ( what a power trip). So Thankful!
