Hi again,

I only post here periodically. My husband is getting ready for

surgery on Monday. He is having a drain put in his pseudocyst,

which is now almost 12 cm x 12 cm x 12 cm (as per the lastest scan

on Monday). They are going to drain it to his intestine. We will

find out tomorrow if he is going to have the spleen removed as

well. Unfortunately his hiatal hernia is now 11 cm; however, they

will not attempt to fix that given the seriousness relating to this

surgery.

Kurt, I wanted to thank you for responding to my other message. It

is comforting to know you are doing well after this procedure. I

will post next week and let you know how my husband does. It is

scary watching him go through this, I can't imagine how horrible it

must be actually enduring all of this. His pain hasn't been bad

this week for some reason--he has only had one bad day, which has

prompted him to say he doesn't need the surgery :) although at this

point he doesn't have much choice.

Heidi, thanks for your messages of support as well. I am very

thankful that my husband has not been as severe as I know it can

get. He can still lead a relatively normal life. I am hoping after

this surgery, alot of the recent pain and discomfort he has been

experiencing will go away.

I will post in the middle of next week, my friends are watching our

children so I can stay at the hospital with my husband. The

hospital is 70 miles away so I am just going to stay up there so I

am close. I will come home mid-week and will post more then.

Again, many thanks, I read on this board and although I don't post

much, I do appreciate reading from the many special people on this

board. Take care,
