Guest guest
I got acute pancreatitis from a reaction to Imuran (a medication for Crohn`s). I was very sick for days, bp of 60/36, vomiting, fever 104, troubles breathing…..and so on. The problem is I got better and I seemed to be back to normal for almost 2 weeks and today it seems the pancreatitis has returned. I'm not sure if this is normal, or if maybe it had never left yet? So far I have no fever, but I have that feeling like I had been punched in the upper abdomen all day, along with fatigue. Tasha
Guest guest
Hi Tasha, I am sorry that you had such a reaction to Imuran that it gave you an acute attack of pancreatitis. Where you hospitalized? How long? If you are having similiar pain now that you had 2 weeks ago as an acute attack then you need to get in touch with you rphysician right away. Are you taking any meds right now? If the pain get much worse then I think a trip to the emergency room would be warranted. Just to check and make sure everything is OK. I hope you feel better soon and the pain is just a little gas and not another attack. Warmly, (SC)
Guest guest
Thanx I still have the same feeling going into day 3, it's not a real bad pain more of a daul pain. Anyhow I went to the clinic today because my temprature droped to 95.3F and I thought it was strange, but being rememberance day all the labs where closed so they could not run bld work. They recommended to go to the ER if it worsens at all. I stoped the Imuran immeaditaly when i was told it was the cause of all the problems. I'm still on prednison though, and I am concerned knowing that my immune system is being suppressed making myself more open to infection. Durning the first attack I did go by ambulance to the ER but they did not diagnose me there and i was discharged * hours later after one IV. My GI suspected it the following day and sent me for bld work (and stoped the Imuran). By the time the results came back (4 days later) the Pancreatitis was already calming down so I was never hospitalized for it. Thank you so much for your reply take care Tasha > > Hi Tasha, I am sorry that you had such a reaction to Imuran that it > gave you an acute attack of pancreatitis. Where you hospitalized?
