Guest guest
My 3yo son has autism. We are on the GF/CF diet seeing good but inconsistant results but after reading about the SCD, I'd like to give it a try. So, to dairy or not to dairy is the question. I am definatly going to try the goat milk yogurt beacuse he loves yogurt but I am unsure about whether or not to allow other legal dairy on the SCD. I like the idea of using dairy again. Soy and Tofu cheese is disgusting!! I was wondering if anyone out there has an ASD child on the SCD using dairy and what kind of results are you seeing? Thank you very much! Guest guest
Hi! My three year old has PDD-NOS and we just went to SCD from GFCF. Today is day 9. I have not added milk back in yet. I will give it a try later and the legal cheeses but right now I just want to get his tummy healed first. We have already seem dramatic changes in my son. and as I said we were already GFCF. This is hard with all the restrictions in the beginning but it is so worth it! But my son is actually eating more now than he was before. When we have been on this for a while I will start with the goat milk and see how he does. But right now I don't want to take any chances with it. Good luck! -------------- Original message -------------- My 3yo son has autism. Guest guest
Hi, nannon25, My son is on the spectrum and does fine with goat yogurt and legal goat cheese. I make ghee from cow's milk instead of using butter, though. The ghee we had alread been using when he was GFCF. We started the yogurt after 3 months on the diet and the cheese somewhat later. He has not reacted to any of these dairy products. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
, I am thrilled to hear the good news! > We > have already seem dramatic changes in my son. I agree with you that it is a good idea to wait before introducing the SCD dairy. Sorry but goat milk is not SCD legal so try the goat yogurt or the legal goat cheeses instead. My kids loved the yogurt and cheese after 9 years of GFCFSF! They still love it. I am sure that your child will also be thrilled. >When we > have been on this for a while I will start with the goat milk and see how he > does. Guest guest
Oh! I thought goat milk was okay since the goat yogurt was okay. Oh well! There is so much to learn with all of this. Luckily my son is going along with everything fine. I am still working on the school snacks though. Carrot chips don't travel too well. I made them yesterday to take to my dads and they got really soft and then he wouldn't touch them. But they are delicious! -------------- Original message -------------- , I am thrilled to hear the good news! > We > have already seem dramatic changes in my son.
