Old Loop / MGB Explaination

Hi Phil,

Dr. R gives a good explanation at the site:

Next, it appears from reading this information, that

the old loop bypass has the connection much higher in

the stomach and closer to the esophagus. The MGB

appears to avoid this by making the stomach like a

tube, much like it seems to be in surgery done for

Barett's Syndrome. My neighbor had this stomach tube

surgery and he's doing fine (just like me).

appears to be major

misconception that other doctors have according

to article in web site.

This plus the manual pointing out potential

problems of RNY may give you

enough information to have your doctor change his

mind on the best course of

action.
