Guest guest
Thank you Margaret for the cystic fibrosis site re enzymes. I don't see Lipram on that list? But with me it's also what is considered a generic, cause between by husbands & my drugs, I need to stick to the generic since they( Humana) pay $12.00 against the brand name of full price...ouch! I hope I did not speak too soon, as today I don't feel too good again? I also probably need more than the 180 tablets per month! Thanks again, & do you have C.F.? Mine is idiopathic, but I suspect the auto-immune diseases in my family to also be a culprit. Best wishes to you, Glentzes
Guest guest
No CF, I have Sjogren's Syndrome. Solvay sued Global in 2004 for claiming that Lipram " " is equivalent to and substitutable for " their product, Creon. Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. v. Global Pharmaceuticals, 2004WL 62718 (D. Minn. Jan. 9, 2004) " The manufacturer argued that a majority of states prohibited drug substitution of a generic for a brand name drug unless the substitute is therapeutically equivalent to the brand (i.e., the drug is identical in active ingredients, strength, dosage form, and rate and extent of absorption), or the drug appears in the FDA's Orange Book, a compendium of brand-name drugs listed along with their FDA-determined therapeutic equivalents. In a few states generics needed only to be pharmaceutically equivalent (i.e., having identical active ingredients, strength, and dosage form) in order to be substituted. Neither Creon nor Lipram currently appear in the Orange Book. " The court said the FDA would have to settle it. Hopefully Global is getting their ducks in a row since they have applied for FDA approval for Lipram. Gets confusing. I feel for people with CF kids who have to wade through this!
