I joined the group today, thought I'd post and introduce myself. I'm

38 years old, live on Long Island, and I was diagnosed with CP in

September. I suspected I had CP for about a year, but it took a great

deal of testing and several doctors to get a diagnosis. Six months

ago, my original gastroenterologist suggested that I see a shrink

because he couldn't find a cause for my severe pain and nausea. So I

dropped him for good and moved up the medical foodchain.

I'm reading older posts and finding it all very interesting. I don't

know anyone else with this disease and although they are sympathetic,

my friends and family don't understand what I'm dealing with, so it's

wonderful to find your community.

Hi,

Alot of us have had to go to many doctors before we found out what was

wrong, you are not alone. There are alot of members here, with every experience

and someone can usually answer most questions. I just wanted to say hi and

welcome to the group.

Debra,

I'm glad that you found us. Most of us came from the same type of

situation with our families, while sympathetic and caring, they were

as much in the dark as we were and couldn't really understand what we

were thinking, feeling, and physically being challenged with each day.

Finding a whole group with hundreds of people who'd been there, done

that, was a life saving discovery for me, and I hope it will be for

you, too.

Feel free to post and questions, nothing here is irrevelent or

uninmportant, and there's usually always someone who will have an

answer or two. So just make yourself at home and tell us some more

about your history when you feel comfortable enough.

With love, hope and prayers,

Heidi

Hi Debra, Welcome to the group, sorry you had to meet us. This is a

great place for people with understanding and knowledge of what you

are going thru. Most questions can be answered and the advice is

awesome. I feel a lot less alone since I joined. I live in Vermont now

but grew up in Staten Island and have many relatives on Long Island.

Hope you are well, Jim
