I am still in early phase of transition of SCD from GF/CF and need to know any

tricks to thicken the chicken broth to use as a gravy/sauce for my son with

autism...he loves and will eat meats with a thicker type gravy but don't know

how to do this without any flour or milk? any ideas on recipes for a thicken

gravy on SCD? thanks for all your help!

I put a boiled onion, some turkey drippings (about 1-2 cups) in the

blender, then added almond flour to thicken. Then added salt to

taste. Came out pretty tasty, not like 'real' gravy but pretty good

for a first batch.

For making gravy I usually do the boiled onion with a little veggie

broth and add the broth from the turkey or chicken (cool and then

skim off the fat).

If I want to make a sauce for different recipes (stews, chicken

fajitas etc...) I 'll pour off the juices and if in a hurry put them

in a large frying pan - turn the heat up to med high/high and

stirring constantly allow it to cook down until the sauce is thick.
