Guest guest
, Methadone has been used as a pain medication for many years, as well as a medication for drug addicts who are trying to get off of heroin or other major narcotics. Several of our members have been using methadone for their pancreatic pain relief for a few years. Cymbalta is designed as a medication to treat cases of major depression. It's also been used as a pain medication, most notably for relief of diabetics with pain from neuropathy. Apparently some physicians have also recommended it for use as a general pain medication. Some drugs appear to have interchangeable uses, for example, Neurontin. Neurontin was originally used as a medication to help control epileptic seizures. It was found, though, that it also acted as a pain reliever for many types of major pain, which was a bonus because it is not a narcotic. It's now used to treat pain in patients with arthritis, pancreatitis, back pain and others. I've been taking this instead of a narcotic breakthrough medication, and 75% of the time it works well enough so that I don't need any breakthrough medication at all. It's just been within the last few months that I've heard about Cymbalta. If you have any questions about this, or any medication, the first place to look for information about it is: http://www.rxlist.com/ This website can tell you all about any FDA approved medications, their makeup, side effects, dosage and any other information a patient would need to know. I hope this helps answer your questions. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
