Guest guest
I had a big hit with my son making a fruit syrup to flavour his yogurt and pancakes. I cooked big batches of frozen berries (one pot of blueberries, one pot of strawberries, one pot of mixed), letting them simmer for hours until they fell apart.?Then I put them through my new food mill (neat contraption!) to separate out the seeds and skins. That left me with pots of berry juices. I added some honey to taste, as they were quite tart. Then, because it looked very thin, I dissolved some gelatine in boiling water and mixed it in to thicken it slightly (one package to 3 or 4 quarts, about). When it cooled, I put it into squeeze bottles, and now it?squirts really easily into individual servings of yogurt or pancakes or whatever. I'm going to use it to make frozen yogurt and " ice-cream " too. Yum! I'm making extra tonight to keep in the freezer for future use. Cheers, (in Canada) me: CFS (20 years) son: aspie, age 14 ________________________________________________________________________ More new features than ever.
