The Pecanbread protocol

I want to give you all an update!

My son and I went SCD together. My son is mildly

autistic and I have an autoimmune disease.

I decided to follow the Pecanbread protocol for both

of us to make things either, even though I am not on

the spectrum.

I just want to say that I think it's working for me as

well. My son has had a marked reduction in bad

behaviors and has made some really astonishing

cognitive leaps in the last couple of weeks. Today he

was talking about his brain, saying his brain was

working...he was using his tool kit and he made an

arrangement of pieces and said it was a cactus! He

then talked about how it would hurt to sit on a

cactus.

These are all abstract concepts, things he could only

grasp with extreme difficulty before.

I have an autoimmune disease, and I recently found a

doctor who believes that I have gut dysfunction as

well. At the time I saw her for the first time, I was

in the midst of the intro. I told her a bit about the

diet and she thought it looked OK.

But I've been wondering all this time if it was

working for me. My swelling has gone down, but I

didn't really know if I was reacting to foods.

Well, now I know. My son had almond butter brownies

for his birthday. He tolerated the almond butter fine.

I, however, did not! I can tolerate one piece of his

brownies, but not more. I also made him little egg

bread sandwiches with almond butter, honey, and salt.

He loves them. I ate one for breakfast and one for

lunch. Not an hour after lunch, I was running for the

bathroom!

So I feel confident that this is working for me too. I

remember someone saying they had " perfect poops "

before. Well I was the same way, until now!

congratulations! I have an autoimmune disease too, and I think that since the

immune system is 70% in the gut, it stands to reason that anything that helps

the gut, helps immune problems. : D Go us!
