Guest guest
Hi everyone. This is my first email to this group. My son started SCD a month ago and he is showing good signs of progress. I want to know how to keep my cookies from burning. Also many people are recommending la cruset cookware with glass enamel- do they make cake pans and cookie sheets too? Guest guest
Hi Liz, and welcome! What are the ingredients in your cookies? Also, when e-mailing the group, it's a good idea to include how long you've been on SCD in your signature. That lets us know at a glance where you are in the process. Are you following the Pecanbread protocol at http://www.pecanbread.com? What stage are you in if so? With the nut butters and nut flours you often have to decrease temperatures by 25 degrees or so and increase the baking time. B. Guest guest
I've never seen this material on a cake pan or cookie sheet. You can line regular cake pans and cookie sheets with parchment paper. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
Hi! We are doing SCD but need to re-do the intro from infractions at Grandma's and begin anew. I use unbleached parchment on regular cookie sheets from Costco. For regular cooking, I either use Le Creuset or my stainless steel All Clad pans. If you heat the All Clad up well enough, you can make a workable pancake. Because of some of the other interventions we do, we do not use any nonstick pans, which makes this all a bit harder. The parchment on the cookie sheets can burn on occasion, but the low temperatures for baking make it a little easier. Just my two cents... RA also Mom to Carson, almost 4, ASD & restarting the diet having lurked on this site for over a year PS - Isn't it interesting about the connections between Autism and RA? I had to do a seriously strict diet to be able to go off my meds to have my two kids...it totally calmed my inflammation. Carson consistently does better with diet...he inherited my leaky gut.
