Guest guest
Hi all, I'm a Crohn's patient who is not taking any medicine right now. When the flare came back recently, I decided to try the SCD diet and started by eating the chicken and carrot soup as suggested in the PeacanBread website. For breakfast and snack I eat cooked and pureed apple with slices of ripe banana. This diet after a few days has completely stopped the diarrhea. This is very good, but now I'm having issues with constipation! ... Is this normal when you start the SDC into diet? Should I be concerned? Is there anything I need to be aware of? Thanks in advance for any comment or suggestion you might have. Best regards, Rez
Guest guest
Hi Rez, I've been SCD for 2 1/2 months now. I don't have issues myself, but my son has autism so I decided to do it with him. I never had D or C, but after starting the diet I had C for the first 3 weeks. Then one day it just went away and I'm back to normal again. I think this is pretty common from what I've read. Guest guest
Yes, it's normal and no, so early in the diet I wouldn't do much of anything, except drop the banana for a few days. If it persists, Elaine gives great suggestions on the pecanbread website for constipation. But honestly, the best thing you can do is try and relax in general and drink lots of good quality water. Healing takes time and SCD works, but until your healed your body will act goofy once in a while. Expect it, and don't let it stop you. rezadastmalchian wrote: Hi all, I'm a Crohn's patient who is not taking any medicine right now. Guest guest
Thank you, i will try to relax, but unfortunatelly i don't tolerate eggs and nuts very well either and apparently those are the more " advanced " foods, so i'm eliminating those too and losing more weight ... anyway i'll stick with it for as long as i can. Thanks, > ~Rez>>>>> If you tolerate eggs mixed with or baked with other foods how about chicken pancakes, banana pancakes, homemade mayo (which can then be used for chicken salad, slamon salad as a topping for burgers, mixed with legal dijon mustard etc...)
