Is Malic Acid legal?

Are you talking about canned peaches or frozen peaches? Canned peaches

must be canned in their own juice. If frozen peaches contain only

malic acid, I would think that would be ok.

I thought citric acid and ascorbic acid were both on

the legal list...yep, just looked, and they both are.

They are frozen. There was citric acid, one other that was legal and

then malic acid listed. Malic wasn't listed on the legal list so I

wanted to question it.

What brand of fruits have you found canned in their own juice?? I

haven't been able to find any and would LOVE to know what brands you've

used. Would it be ok for him to eat those straight from the can (I'm

guessing it would be ok)?? Thanks, Pam

In my case only pineapple, unfortunately, though I think I heard of

someone finding something else, but it's rare. It is my experience

that canned pineapple needs to be cooked in the early stages, but try

some--just a small amount at first--and see how you do.
