Guest guest
I wanted to purchase the Progurt starter, but I am uncomfortable with 2-3 day ship time with an ice pack. If I am using the goat yogurt, is that my only option for a starter? I checked Pecanbread and that's all I saw. B. Guest guest
, I think you should get the Progurt starter because it is the only one without cow dairy. We get it regularly and it always makes very good yogurt. When probiotics get warm, some organisms die, but many don't (it does depend on how long it stays warm, of course). I think they pack in extra beyond what they say is in there to help with this. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
I made goat yogurt with cow yogurt starter. Is it not okay to do that? Guest guest
I also like Culturaid by Klaire Labs. It is also dairy free. Cindy
Guest guest
Before I register, is there a difference in cost with the Culturaid? The Progurt is $30 plus $15 for 2-3 day shipping with ice packs. If it is the same I will just get the Progurt. But I was curious. B. Guest guest
Hi, Cathe, It just depends how much you want to avoid cow dairy. Many parent of kids on the autism spectrum want to avoid it completely. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
CulturAid looks like a good starter. It has 3 appropriate strains and is nondairy. How do you get around the Klaire Labs policy of only selling to physicians? I was looking at this product at www.emersonecologics.com and I noticed that it said this, " This product is designed to allow for 24 hour culturing for maximum conversion of lactose content of milk. " Interesting. Looks like it should be added to the www.pecanbread.com website as a legal non-dairy starter. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
