Guest guest
I was told by my doc to give injections every day for 2 weeks, then go every other day, then get it down to 3 times a week, then 1 times a week. I have noticed when I give my self my injection, if I buy the syringe that is 3ml 25g1 that it by passes the nerves and does not hurt. I tried it and it does work. Where would one get the cream to numb the area so I may help others.? -- JH Celiac, SCD 3 years
Guest guest
JH -- interesting, I am not familiar with that protocol. The protocol you describe is very different from the typical DAN! protocol for ASD kids. We see Dr. Neubrander, who spearheaded the use of MB12 injections in children. He has found that the upper outer quarter of the tush cheek is the best place to give the injection, and it should be given shallowly so that it absorbs more slowly (also really does not hurt there). His general protocol (injection amt based on weight) is every three days though he moves some patients eventually to every day or every two, depending on the child. My son has been using the shots since Sept. 04 and has been on every day shots since Spring 05. He does not have a protocol that I have heard of for tapering off, since many kids continue to benefit from long term use. We give the shots to our son at night when he sleeps and he never wakes up. The needles used are marked u-100 and are very fine -- used for insulin injections for diabetics. You can get a cream prescrimed by your doctor for numbing called EMLA (and acronym for the ingredients), any pharmacy should be able to fill it.
