Guest guest
How long has he been on both. I have heard of aggression with the folinic -- how high is the dose? Maybe taper down folinic and then raise it slowly? Kim > > My son has ben on b 12 shots and takes folinic acid and we haven't > been able to move past the anger. Guest guest
I have been told B6 and magnesium can help with aggression. I don't know if anyone on SCD has tried that? I also heard DMG and TMG but I am not sure there are SCD legal versions of them. Perhaps someone else on the list knows. My son was not aggressive per se but he did used to headbutt his teachers when he didn't get his way. I know how it sounds, but he never did it at home. He just knew he could get away with it at school. Since SCD he stopped doing that. Whew. B. Guest guest
We do give him magnesium. I truley believe he just has a short fuse in his genes, and I'm not just saying that. But same thing, he pulls that stuff at home!! > > > > > > My son has ben on b 12 shots and takes folinic > > acid and we haven't > > > been able to move past the anger. Guest guest
It could be die off. What is he eating now? Is he getting enough to eat? My son gets very angry and cries sometimes when he is hungry. B. Guest guest
I'm going through the same thing, believe me! But a lot of kids with digestive issues are now making up for lost time and having growth spurts! I know it's hard. On the weekends it's like my son eats every two hours! I was asking what he was eating in case there was something new he was eating that might be causing problems. B. Guest guest
We don't do B12 either and this is not my ASD son, but my middle, who is ADHD and bipolar (which I often question that dx for both of them) used to get soooooooo violent and destructive. He's been on a mood stabilizer since he was six, because he was so violent he was literally beating the crap out of me. Over the littlest things. He has been MUCH mellower on this diet, although he's had some kickbacks. What's worked for us is the epsom salts bath. It calms him down almost immediately. I also am pretty sure he's sensitive to the antibiotics and hormones in beef so am pulling him from beef for now. Seems like every time he has beef he gets ugly afterward. I hope you figure out what is causing the anger in your son--I know it's not fun dealing with that. Cathe, yeast overgrowth, mom to: 15yo ds ASD, OCD, bipolar 10yo ds ADHD, bipolar 6yo ds NT, severe constipation All SCD since 11/4/2007 > --Our son gets the same way and we don't use B 12 shots. Guest guest
Another option would be to switch from folinic to folic acid because some kids just CAN'T tolerate folinic. Did you start MB12 and folinic simultaneously? You may want to do a search on autismweb.com; there will be a lot of posts about MB12. Folinic can make some kids NUTS. A timeline of when you started those supplements and SCD would be helpful. If you have already posted this, forgive me. I am WAY behind on my e-mails! MS Mom to Nick MB12 shots since 1/2006 w/Dr. Neubrander, SCD Aug 2007
Guest guest
we did the flinic acid first and it doesnt seem to be a problem. Its just when we add the shot . I give him 1 tenth of the dose and that is all he can handle. It is so weird so I tried it to and had the same anger and I am 37. How can I expect him to keep it togethet on it when his mom is affected too. We have been scd 1 and a half years the first half I don't count we went to raw to fast we restarted and its been a year and we are still not on raw food yet. thanks Kim wrote: How long has he been on both.
