Guest guest
Hi Everyone! After much lurking and then wavering about the intro, we finally did it. We are doing it egg- free and are adding applesauce today. I am wondering...is it really bad to also add squash or green beans today too? It is just so tough without the eggs (we are leaving them out for a while because my son scores a 1 on the IGG test and we were eating a lot of them). I should know the answers to this, but now that I am actually doing it, I am nervous. Either squash and or green beans would help a lot. Also, do we have to puree the green beans or will steaming them until they are pretty squishy do?? Thanks, mom to Carson, age 4 ASD, SCD since 12/9/07 (nut diet since approx 10/1/07)
Guest guest
Hi ! Congrats on taking the plunge. A lot of people add squash right away if they are not doing eggs. But since you are adding applesauce, you might want to wait a couple of days (I know). I think I would have added the squash right away instead of the apples. I don't think many people have problems with squash but some people are intolerant to apples. I boiled green beans until mostly squishy but they still held together in a bean shape. B. Guest guest
Some people posted that they had itchy skin/scalp. For my son if he does not tolerate a food, he has diarrhea an hour after eating it. So I can tell fast! Some kids will have behavior issues. Everybody is different. That is why introducing one food every few days is the way to go. B.
