Cooking question again/Beans

Hello, our family has been on SCD for about three years. This past

weekend I introduced beans for the first time. We all tolerated them

just great! Very exciting! I made a fabulous Mexican Black Bean Soup.

Mmmmmm.

Anyway, I found another soup recipe that calls for navy beans. We

couldn't find navy beans at the store. We got white great northern

beans, hoping these were similar. Are they, and just to be sure, are

they legal?

Oops! Sorry, Cathy, the Great Northern Beans are not legal.:-(

Navy beans (legal) are also known as pea beans, or as they say at the

Upper Canada Lower Bowel Society, " dried navy beans = Yankee bean =

white pea bean = pearl haricot = Boston bean = Boston navy bean = pea

bean = haricot blanc bean = small white bean = haricot bean = fagioli "
