Guest guest
Hello, our family has been on SCD for about three years. This past weekend I introduced beans for the first time. We all tolerated them just great! Very exciting! I made a fabulous Mexican Black Bean Soup. Mmmmmm. Anyway, I found another soup recipe that calls for navy beans. We couldn't find navy beans at the store. We got white great northern beans, hoping these were similar. Are they, and just to be sure, are they legal? Thank you for your help! Guest guest
Oops! Sorry, Cathy, the Great Northern Beans are not legal.:-( Navy beans (legal) are also known as pea beans, or as they say at the Upper Canada Lower Bowel Society, " dried navy beans = Yankee bean = white pea bean = pearl haricot = Boston bean = Boston navy bean = pea bean = haricot blanc bean = small white bean = haricot bean = fagioli " Here is their link about beans: http://uclbs.org/tidbits/beans/ mom to alex-12 SCD 4/23/
