Hi, Di, You move on based on stools and behaviors. You try new things in small amounts and if it doesn't go well you wait a while before trying it again. had been doing chelation and it is my feeling that he couldn't heal because of it. A single chelation challenge in Oct. '06 set him back about a year. We stopped chelating after that. He continues to make slow, steady progress. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
I will tell you the wisest advice I have ever heard: keep a food diary. Mark down what you feed him and what happends, anything noteworthy. Remember that food can take 3-5 days to go entirely through the system. A food diary is the way I found out about almost all of our sensitivities. For example, I found out that if my daughter ate eggs, four days later she would become angry and teary. Without a food diary, I would have missed that, for certain. You might take a look at carrots and onions. Both are quite fiberous, so for some, they are irritating. This is the reason we all take No Fenols, but even with that I still can't handle carrots. So many carrots are woody, and the outside leaves of the onion are sometimes very hard to even cut. The belly takes time to heal and early on it's pretty sensitive. You might go to Stan Kurtz web site and look at the Caveman Diet. Caveman is a begining version of SCD, starting with foods most people are not sensitive to. Stan recommends getting a IGG (delayed food sensitivity test), but staying Caveman until you get the results back. If you can afford that, it will save you a lot of stress.
