Has anyone heard of success using SCD for kids with Sensory Processing

Disorder? I have a good friend whose son was just diagnosed with it.

Thanks also for the crockpot/stovetop ideas!

Within a few weeks after starting my son on SCD, he stopped gagging when we

brush his teeth. He use to gag very easy. Now he doesn't gag at all! He also

stopped putting his fingers in his ears when he rides on the school bus. Those

are two big improvements we've seen. He's been SCD for almost three months now.

My son is on the diet (spectrum kid) but I am going to try this on my daughter

who has sensory issues and just misses being on the spectrum. She will harder

as far as eating so I am getting him established first. Also, he has a lot more

issues. I am going to put her GF first then go SCD as I think that will make

the transition easier. But I definitely think it will help.

My (adoptive) son has been SCD for approx 8 weeks. He has attachment disorder,

FAS, PTSD, ODD, and a few spectrum behaviors. I have yet to see dramatic

changes with his behavior but within the first month he stopped needing to jump

on his trampoline. This is a big change because in the 6 years he has been in

our lives, he has never, never, never stopped jumping. He jumped in his crib

until he started breaking it. He jumped on furniture until it was ruined. And

our mini tramp has had to be in a central part of the house because he has

needed it frequently throughout every single day. Suddenly I noticed he wasn't

using it any more. My baby (8 months) was using it for a table for her toys

instead.
