Guest guest
Hi there! I was so excited to get my yogurt maker and my first batch was finally ready last night. I was just going to try a spoonful and I was out of honey, so I didn't flavor it with anything...ended up not even able to swallow that bite. disgusting. I made it with ultra-pasteurized goat milk. I've read that other people also don't like the taste of it. It'll be a week or so until I can possibly get some raw goat milk. Neither my son nor I are casein free, so I can do cow milk if that would taste better. I was just trying the goat for the ease of digestion. Any opinions on whether organic, pasteurized cow milk will taste any better that the goat milk? thanks! Kari
Guest guest
My sister makes it with regular store bought cow's milk and it is much better than ultra-pasteurized goat milk. She is not SCD but also agrees that the homemade yogurt whether cow (store bought pasteurized) or goat (raw) is addictive because it tastes so good. We have to use goat here at my house and prefer raw. It tastes so good. Never tried organic pasteurized cow milk. IMO (just MY opinion) anything tastes better than ultra-pasteurized goat milk. Guest guest
kari my opinion is that cows milk yougurt without honey or fruit, is tart, and hard to swallow too, I understand that goats milk is better for you- especially if you can get it raw. You just will have to try both. Being new at making yougurt also, I have to tell you that with alittle cooked fruit and honey. It is sooooo much better than any other yogurt. sandy newbie uc since 2004 week 3 of scd karicreehan wrote: Hi there!
