Turning yellow

We've been SCD for almost 3 months now and my son loves butternut squash fries.

I've noticed though that he has a yellowish-organge tent to his skin now. Is

that a bad sign or not?

Thanks

Diane

Just means he's getting a lot of vitamin A. Does he

eat carrots too?

I turned a bit orange when I was eating lots of sweet

potatoes back when I was running a different

elimination diet. It happened to my son also when he

was a baby because he loved sweet potatoes.

The only concern I would have is that if he is eating

that much squash and/or carrots, he may not be getting

a good variety. I'd increase the variety of some of

the other vegetables.

I think a yellow tint to the eyes can mean jaundice

(liver problems), which would not be related to

vitamin A. Otherwise I think he is probably OK.
