Guest guest
Hi, Ladies, Mimi, could you help me out by " ruling " whether we can talk about Stan Kurtz's Caveman Diet, or if we need to squelch it? Kathy keeps suggesting it to newbies having trouble (and boy are there a lot of newbies right now!) but it is not legal. It might be a good approach for autism. But " white vegetables " are scary (potatoes???). http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pecanbread/message/74016 http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pecanbread/message/74056 Sheila, I hope you and your kids are feeling better. Guest guest
I thought that the white veggies on CD were cauliflower, white asparagus, onions, etc...i didn;t realize that potatoes were legal on that diet.... > > Hi, Ladies, > Mimi, could you help me out by " ruling " whether we can talk about Stan Kurtz's Caveman Diet, or if we need to squelch it? Guest guest
I certainly don't know. But when you go the the website and all it says in the list of things to do is to consume " green and white vegetables " it leaves a lot open to interpretation and possible misunderstanding. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
Yikes! I'm sure potatoes are not legal! Maybe we could contact Stan and ask him to write it more clearly. The point in suggesting the caveman is that some moms start with eggs, carrots, tomatoes, many foods that kids can be sensitive to. Stan is a great supporter of SCD and so am I. That the wording on the webpage causes confusion is a point worth making. diatplay wrote: I thought that the white veggies on CD were cauliflower, white asparagus, onions, etc...i didn;t realize that potatoes were legal on that diet.... > > Hi, Ladies, > Mimi, could you help me out by " ruling " whether we can talk about Stan Kurtz's Caveman Diet, or if we need to squelch it? Guest guest
I also have a lot of respect for Stan. I agree with his recommendation to drink pure water and eat organic foods if you can afford it. I have a different point of view regarding some of his other recommendations. I hope that we can one day we can work this out. Mimi Pecanbread Founder
Guest guest
I forgot to add that I also agree with Stan's position concerning fruit and vegetable juices. We added this to our website in February: http://www.pecanbread.com/new/protocol1.html " Raw fruit and vegetable juices may be given when the worst digestive symptoms subside. The juices must be made using a traditional juicer that extracts the fibrous parts. Blenders and Vitamix should not be used in preparing juices that will be consumed by beginners as they retain the fiber. Juices should always be diluted with water. This does not apply to tomato juice. " > I also have a lot of respect for Stan. I agree with his recommendation to drink > pure water and eat organic foods if you can afford it.
