Guest guest
Next week is my sons holiday party at school and the techer asked if I could send in something different for him to eat to make the day more special for him. I am sure he won't be able to eat the treats for the class. Any ideas on what I can make him? Thanks,

Guest guest
If you make presentation fun, you can probably use the same foods you are eating. We used party toothpicks and put little pieces of chicken and cooked apple alternating on a stick. It was the first treat gone at my little ones birthday party. We also made tiny little meatballs and served them the same way with a dip. I need something " special " to send to school with my son. > Next week is my sons holiday party at school and the techer asked if I > could send in something different for him to eat to make the day more > special for him. Guest guest
I'll have to give the mini meatballs a try. We are only SCD since 11/20 so our menu is really limited. But yet he is an eating machine now! Since last night he has eaten a pound of ground meat between dinner last night and lunch today. His is only three and 33 pounds! (I guess not for long!) Thanks for the suggestions! --------- I need something " special " to send to school with my son. > Next week is my sons holiday party at school and the techer asked if I > could send in something different for him to eat to make the day more > special for him. Guest guest
That may work for a cookie! And he loves cookies! We are at stage one still but I have added nut butter to try and fill him up and help with the constipation. (pebble poop) He is eating eggs only as an ingredient in the egg bread or pancakes. Banana he will only eat in the pancakes. He will eat applesauce. And the veggies he has only touched in the egg bread. (avacado, squash and carrots) He ate the carrot chips once and then wouldn't touch them again. He eats all the meats just fine. so that is where we are at and why I need some help! thank you! son-3yo-PDD-NOS-SCD since 11/20/07 -------------- Original message -------------- Hi, , How about meringues? http://www.pecanbread.com/new/recipes1.html If you list what he is currently eating, we could maybe come up with more ideas. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
Hi, , Well, the meringues are the " traditional " first treat. There is also a lollipop recipe in BTVC. If the school nut-free, you could send Chicken Cupcakes from www.pecanbread.com (under " Meats " ). You can add some honey and cinnamon. If he is doing well with the nut butter and the school is not nut-free, there are lots of cookies you could make. You can substitute nut butter for the nut flour when you make them. Do you have Lucy's Cookbook? Her Cinnamon Cookies are 's favorite--skip the whole- nut ingredient. There is also an almond butter candy recipe on www.pecanbread.com. Here's a new cut-out cookie recipe: http://www.scdrecipe.com/recipes-cookie/scd-cutout-cookies/ mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
When using nut butter instead of nut flour, how do I substitute the amounts? Would 1 cup=1 cup? You guys are making this sooo much easier! Thanks! -------------- Original message -------------- Hi, , Well, the meringues are the " traditional " first treat. Guest guest
Hi, , Most of us here use a cup of nut butter to sub for a cup of nut flour-- one-to-one--and have good results. On the scd_recipe_creators list, Donna has posted that she thinks in terms of equal weights when she substitutes, not equal volumes. I have not needed to do that, but you might consider it if you have a good scale. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
