Guest guest
If a juice is labeled: 100%juice, no sugar added, is this legal?? I find labelling laws in this country frustrating! Thanks,
Guest guest
Hi, , No, there is still the possibility of sugar being added and not listed due to the 2% rule. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/04 > > If a juice is labeled: 100%juice, no sugar added, is this legal?? Guest guest
No sugar added means that once the concentrate was diluted for packaging there was no sugar added. However, in the concentrate that was used (purchased by the packaging company) sugar would probably been used. This is why they can say no sugar added and do not state sugar-free. If the juice is NOT from concentrate, it is probably fine. Better yet, buy a juicer and make your own. Then you know that it free from anything else that companies do not have to legally label. You can also juice veggies and to mix in with the fruit juice. If you peel and seed your food before juicing, you can use the fruit for cooking and making popsicles. We do this once a week and make a big batch. It is truly delicious. My kids love to help make it too. Good luck! a juice question > If a juice is labeled: 100%juice, no sugar added, is this legal?? Guest guest
Good advice, Cindy. But just one thing--I wouldn't trust a juice just because it said " not from concentrate " . It would be better to get the hand-written letter from the company, just to be sure. Or, as you said, make your own. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
