Hi, it's me again with more questions!

1. I submitted my online patient form about 3 weeks ago and have not received a

letter for my insurance companny from Dr. R's office. I thought it would have

been sent by now. How long does it typically take? Who should I call? (I

already have verbal authorization for this surgery, I just want it in writing

from them!)

2. Once I have my packet completed, do I then call to schedule clinic and take

my packet with me, or do I send my packet first and wait for approval from Dr.

R. before I schedule clinic?

3. Wish me luck on Thursday, I go to see my new PCP....I have made a copy of

the manual for him, a copy of the letter to the doctor explaining what is

needed, as well as the Sample History & Physical Exam. Hopefully he will

support me and be able to provide this information in a good time frame.

4. I am going to start on my patient contacts next week. I know a lot of you

are busy with the holidays, but anyone that is willing to be a contact for me,

please email me at my other email address and I will email you directly. My

other email is: doestigger@...

Thanks for your all of your help!

Sherry,

1. Once I submitted by online patient form, I had a copy of the letter to

send to insurance from Dr. R within a week. He emailed it me, I sent it to

them. Call them an see what the deal is.

2. When Barbara called me to tell me I had been approved by Dr. R, I set my

surgery and clinic dates in the same call. I didn't go to clinic until I

had been approved by Dr. R. and had a surgery date.

3. Good luck meeting with your PCP on Thursday. Remember, if they are not

willing to collaborate with you on this life-long process, find someone that

will. I took the form and the letter I wanted him to write so all he had to

do was fill in the H & P blanks and modify the letter to his liking. (We

work together professionally in the hospital and have for years so I

probably had more flexibility there.)

4. If you still need patient contacts let me know. How is the rest of your

packet coming? Be writing those other letters and collecting the different

pieces while you are waiting for contact response.

Let me know.
