Guest guest
I made the first batch of goat yogurt using Yogourmet starter and it tastes like glue and is real bitter. My 2 year old son barely tasted it and shuddered. Heck, I tasted it and almost gagged. Any advice on how to sweeten it or how to make it taste like heaven? Also, how many breakdowns do you have in a week - all the hours of cooking then the picky eating toddlers turning their heads and going on food strikes? I've made banana pancakes, apple pancakes, chicken muffins, chicken pancakes, squash, etc. in the last few days - all to no avail. The only things he continues eating are meat, eggs, and fruit smoothies. Thanks for your support and advice. This is one of the most challenging times I've had. I almost miss colic - (who has alot of questions right about now)
Guest guest
Hi, . I think the fact that your son consumes smoothies is wonderful. You can just keep sneaking vegetables into the smoothies. Continue to offer vegetables in other forms and reward for trying so that some day you won't have to be sneaky. But you can get a lot of healthful carbs into smoothies, so do not despair! We put honey and a drop of vanilla into a serving of goat yogurt. Sometimes we make SCD jam, usually peach because legal frozen peaches are easy to come by where we live. We sweeten the jam to taste with honey and stir it into the yogurt. really likes dripped vanilla/honey yogurt with a banana sliced in. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
It is extremely frustrating when you are innovative and energetic in cooking something and your child wants nothing to do with it. BUT, I must say, it sure feels GREAT when something is a hit! I, too, consider SCD the greatest challenge I have ever taken, and we own a hyperbaric oxygen chamber and every 30 days for 30 days straight, either my husband or I lies in there every night with our son for two hours. It is amazing what you will do for love.
