Guest guest
Hi, I am almost 3 months post op. I have hit a little plateau for the last two weeks and am sitting at 46lbs lost. Don't flame me I am happy with that, but I was on a roll and sort of had my heart set on losing 50 by Christmas-don't even ask me why. I feel really good and I look good according to lots of people! I have gotten more compliments in the last month than I got in the previous 10 years. One lady actually told me I looked taller too. Well, maybe Dr Rutledge stretched my neck or something........ Anyway, as for the foods that don't sit well-for me mostly it is milk. It gives me some incredible gas-very fragrant too. I have had some other times where I have eaten food and felt uncomfortable, but that has happened when I have eaten either too fast or I've overeaten. The feeling has passed after an hour or two. I have had no dumping or if I've had any it has been so mild that I didn't know I was having it. I have thrown up 4 times. You have to remember to eat slow and chew your food-hopefully you are one of the lucky ones that don't need to learn and relearn and relearn this the hard way (sigh). I have to let pre-ops know that throwing up now is not the same as when you are sick. Hard to explain-you throw up, you feel better and sometimes you go ahead and finish eating (remember to chew and eat slow). To the chef-you will not have a problem creating your gourmet delights after the first couple of weeks. During that time you may be a little tired and because you are primarily on liquid diet it may bother you a little bit being around food as you begin your adjustment to your new life. I don't make gourmet fare except on special occasions, but I do present a formal Sunday Brunch almost every week and I haven't had any problems with this at all. Sorry this is long, happy holidays to everyone!
