Guest guest
hi friends, i've been really slack in reading all the messages, but the few i've caught were very interesting...expecially the past several on appeals. i was told several weeks ago that it had been decided not to add this surgery as a benefit to our policy but they would however be happy to reconsider in 2002. great, kiss my big ugly ---, i cannot and will not wait for them to come around. i had decided to apply for a job with the county as their insurance does cover. no news on my application yet, and i'm getting a second wind and considering an appeal (along with continuing to try for another job). today has been an interesting day...i was told about several of the hospitals employees who have had breast reduction surgery...guess what...this is also an exclusion but our insurance did cover!!! i walked my bbb to the ceo's office and informed them that i have yet to recieve a reason for denial, the procedure for appealing, and informed him that i will appeal. and...what is the deal, boob jobs get it but wls doesn't? he said that from what he could recall, the reason for denial was that " maybe i hadn't tried enough diets, or the " right " diet " . i do have a doc who works in the e.r. who is on my side of this fight...he is going to speak with the chief of staff (who is the " big guy " who approves and denies) about this surgery...can't hurt. meanwhile...i'm starting again and will begin working on an appeal. BYE THE WAY...has anyone heard anything about Inga yet? I recall that she was to have her surgery (not the mgb) on the 18th. sorry so long... leilla from claremont
Guest guest
Leilla: Good for you! If you don't stick up for you, who will? My daughter had breast reduction surgery and it was an important surgery for her to have. She has terrible back and neck problems and couldn't get clothes to fit. But it wasn't life threatening. Our problem IS life threatening..some folks just don't get it..they think we're pigs. That pisses me to the max. I hope you succeed in convincing them to pay!
