Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Sorry this is so long, but I have a couple of questions: Just wanted to give everyone a quick update. I went to meet my new PCP yesterday and ask for his help in supporting me through this surgery. HE SAID YES!!! I thought I would just ask for his help and support, then schedule the physical stuff. NOPE!! He said, let's get started on your medical portion today!! I had the EKG and blood work done yesterday. He said I should have his letter by the 1st of the year! I also found out that he has supported three other people for this surgery! I am soooo thankful!!! God was truly with me yesterday. NOW, FOR THE NOT SO GOOD NEWS!!!--- He did tell me to be prepared to be a self-pay. Two of the three patients he supported had to self-pay. I have CIGNA of North Carolina and he said they probably will not pay. Does anyone else have CIGNA of NC and how did it work for you? How many times can I appeal in NC? I just want to be prepared for the fight I may have to face! Thanks for listening! Sherry in Raleigh
Guest guest
Sherry, I am in the same position you are. I just changed my PCP with one that will help and also just finished my medical portion as that is where she wanted to start also. Can someone with CIGNA with WLS exclusions give Sherry and I some advise. WE need help!!! Thank you, Sonya in Wilmington, NC

Guest guest
Sherry, So glad things went well with your PCP. I don't have any words of wisdom re: Cigna and am still fighting the insurance battle here. As a self pay I would still say this surgery has been the best thing in my life in a long time. I may be poor but I won't be unhealthy. Keep up the fight.
