Guest guest
Hey Everyone Can you give me feedback on food processors? I have one, but not big enough to do all the mixing for pancakes, chopping enough chicken for the family... . I have 3 little ones, and one on the way! So we need one big enough for a family of 6. Thanks Kathy and

Guest guest
> > I recently bought a Cuisinart and love it!!! It's heavy duty enough to grind nuts and meats and etc. > Elaine made a fantastic rast red pepper and almond spread (recipe to follow) She used an older food processor. I bought one at a housewares discount store and could not snap it together quickly so I returned it. Elaine was incredulous and thought I was really peculiar. A few months later Cuisinart introduced brand new models-- the " Ferraris " of food processors and I sprung for the 11 cup plus model. Wow! Talk about becoming a quick study of a chef overnight. I saved so much prep time and became very inventive and cleanup was a breeze. I also invested in an Omega Juicer which can processes food as well as juicing. These two appliances have made SCD cooking very creative, professional and fun. Ramesco 1/2 cup toasted almonds chopped finely in food processor. 3 tablespoons butter *1 cup of roasted red peppers from a jar, drained 2 teaspoons wine vinegar, 2 small piece jalepeno peppers (optional) 1 clove garlic 2 tablespoons olive oil Crisp romaine leaves This is Elaine's recipe and these were her exact instructions: " I do my own roasted almonds. I use my big frying pan with about 3 tablespoons butter - heat turned to about 3. I make about 3/4 pound at a time. I slowly cook the nuts in the butter, scooping and turning about every 3 minutes to distribute butter over the pile and when the butter starts turning brown and you smell the little devils, and they look slightly darker, I dump them on a pan with 3 layers of paper towels, dab them of the grease, and salt. " Place almonds in a food processor. Drain roasted red peppers and add to almonds along with wine vinegar, jalepeno peppers), garlic and whir to a thick paste. Gradually add the olive oil and drip slowly as the processor whirs. Season with salt to taste. Refrigerate one hour before serving Serve as a pate on SCD crackers or romaine leaves or use as a dip *Elaine used peppers from a jar but roasting from scratch is more " legal " Carol F. Guest guest
I LOVE my Cuisinart also. I have a little mini and liked it so much that I bought a big one. They are both troopers! I bought the 11 cup because it had an 11 yr warranty. The Kitchen Aide only had 1 yr. Bonita Re:survey- best food processor? I recently bought a Cuisinart and love it!!! Guest guest
Thanks to all for answering my food processor survey. I love to cook and even if I would not do SCD for my child, I would still do these recipes!
