Job Description: Available Immediately, September 23, 2004

1. Position Title: Program Leader (Full time)

Pay Range: Range: $29,120- $33,280 (start $31,200)

Supervised by: Project Director

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required to Perform Duties

1. Highly motivated individual who is reliable, professional and a team player.

2. Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and oral)

3. Bachelor's degree in social work, social and behavioral sciences, with 3 years of experience. MSW a plus.

4. Supervisory experience or potential to supervise a diverse staff, by age and ethnicity and good communication skills (written/oral).

5. Must like youth and be patient with youth culture.

6. Must demonstrate cultural competence, an openness to people and desire to help.

7. Computer skills and Word Perfect, Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Word. Access very helpful.

8. Non-judgmental and tolerant of different opinions and cultures.

9. Able to recognize, name and express feelings as they occur, with a caring personality.

10. Must have clean drug and background check.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Hire, orient and train staff, including facilitators, teen promotors and data manager.

2. Serve as the central point of contact for intervention and control sites of Proyecto Prevencion. Be the " face " of the program in the community.

3. Recruit families and youth into our program, explain program and navigate the consent process.

4. Supervise diverse staff, serve as a mentor/role model to junior staff, participants and volunteers.

5. Receive training and implement science-based model curriculum with fidelity.

6. Organize field trips, outside speakers, volunteer and staff activities and duties.

7. Help fundraise and coordinate events for 50 - 500 people.

8. Marketing and promotions for various projects. (make promotional material for events, i.e. brochures, flyers, etc)

9. Conduct weekly staff meetings, employee evaluations and work with evaluation of project.

10. Keep open and clear communication channels with the project director.

11. Other duties as assigned.

2. Position Title: Executive Assistant/Fiscal Administrator (.50 FTE)

Pay Range: Starting $8.50-$10/ hour depending on experience

Supervised by: Executive Director

7. Enter confidential data using Excel.

8. Make copies, file materials, and answer phones.

9. When it’s soccer season- travel to Wimauma to pay referees, order and distribute uniforms, and order trophies and plaques for End of Year Event.

10. Help fundraise and coordinate events for 50 - 500 people.

11. Marketing and promotions for various projects. (make promotional material for events, i.e. brochures, flyers, etc)

12. Keep office stocked with supplies.

13. Collect and distribute mail daily.

14. Other duties as assigned.

3. Position Title: Peer Outreach Worker/Promotor (1.5 FTE, 1 full time and one half time position)

Pay Range: $9/hour+ with limited benefits (depending on funding)

Supervised by: Alayne Unterberger, MA Project Director

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required to Perform Duties

1. Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and oral) (Haitian Creole or Maya languages helpful)

2. Familiarity with Latino community and services

3. Valid FL driver’ license and clean drug record

4. Good telephone and interpersonal skills

5. Health background helpful

6. High School Diploma or GED preferred

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide outreach services with the objective of promoting family health through education, health promotion, radio and events.

2. Participate in training sessions and staff meetings.

3. Document activities through outreach log, collect and compile statistics on the program as required.

4. Conduct home visits, visits to other sites where clients congregate to deliver health promotion messages.

5. Serve as a role model for participants.

6. Network with federal, state, county and community agencies to deliver services and promote program.

7. Assist clients in coordinating services and navigating services.

8. Advocate and translate on behalf of clients as needed.

9. Communicate and reach clients through phone calls, letters or other correspondence.

10. Conduct basic health education presentations on health, resources in the community and services available.

11. Other duties as assigned.

4. Position Title: Interviewer, Proyecto Amistad Pay Range: $14.00/hr (.50 FTE)

Able to work with confidential material. 7. Cultural competency and ease with diverse populations. 8. Adaptable - Able to take on extra responsibilities. 9. Reliable transportation. 10. Willing to travel.

7. Coordinate, and on occasion perform, data entry and analysis as requested.

8. Organize files in such a way that confidentiality is protected at all times. 9. Promote the organization and network on partnerships with communities or organizations on research, service or training opportunities. 10.
