Guest guest
He never had to go the bathroom 4 times a day and get up at night for the same reason, which happen yesterday. His BM is very bloody, including water in the toilet, and not formed. I am not sure if he has mucas, it actually does not smell badly (does not smell at all), but very liquidy with cramps. We only on SCD since end of November and I took him off Rowasa and probiotics (maybe it was a mistake), because he was responding so well. Book said, expect outbreak in 3 months, it was not even a month for . Please, what did you experience? Was it similar, or .... Guest guest
Sheila, he was on Lactobacillus Super Strain NAS 2 billion (and VitC 5%) and Lactobacillus bulgaricus Super Strain LB-51 2 billion cfu (and VitC 5%) both bottles are made by Natren. I also put him back on Rowasa (2 times a day), then I will reduce it to 1 (in a week) and decided to start diet all over again (I just did not remove yogurt, because he did not show any sympthoms). I think that's it. Guest guest
Hi , If you are going to reintroduce the probiotics the Natren's Megadophilus dairy powder looks legal but all their others aren't (including the L. bulgaricus). But, since you are doing well with the yogurt you may not feel a probotic is also necessary. Please keep us updated on . Guest guest
Hi , Also, if the bleeding is not improving you may want to either drip the yogurt or stop it for a few days to see if that helps. For some (not all) with bleeding the yogurt may irritate the bowels. How much yogurt is he having now/day? If you decide to stop the yogurt you may want to readd the legal probiotic. Guest guest
Sheila, his bleeding improved a little, but not the loose stool. He is having cramps as well (or gass?), I think he lost too much of iron, because he looks too paile for me and tired. I do not what to do, which food would help to stop loose stool? Guest guest
Hi ; Sorry to butt in here. One of our boys was 3 when he had a yeast die off and then had very bad diarrhea for a couple of weeks. We gave butyrate which feeds the gut wall and helps good bacteria become established and he started having good stools again, and he became potty trained in the same week. Maybe it's worth a try. Our son was also very low on iron and we had to supplement that for a while before his levels eventually stabilized. http://organicpharmacy.org/products/Butyric.Cal-Mag http://www.autismcoach.com/Cal-Mag%20Butyrate.htm Mark > > > > > > > > > > He never had to go the bathroom 4 times a day and get up at > > night > > > > for > > > > > the same reason, which happen yesterday. Guest guest
Hi , Exactly what is he eating? How is it prepared? (ie Is chicken soup cooked for 3-4 hours, did you skim fat etc...) Approximately how much of each is he getting? To help firm up stool: Carrots should be cooked a long time (3-4 hrs) and then pureed in broth or water. Fat should be a at a minimum. Skim fat from broth, broil meats etc... Diluted legal juice from the intro (legal grape juice or legal apple cider) may help with energy and the paleness. Also the electrolyte mix. If he still seems very pale after drinking some of this you may want to get a blood test to see if he is anemic (from the blood loss). How many bm's /day is he having now? Guest guest
Sheila, it is very hard for me right now since we are not home, so I am trying my best. He was having boiled chicken (not 3 hours) and carrots. I will cook his broth today at night for 3-4 hours. I will give him legal deluted juice today (did not know he was allowed). I also gave him bananas (riped). We will be out of the house for while, so I am making him veggie mix with eggs. He also was having eggs/banana pancaces for breakfast. Tomarrow we will be bach home, so things should be better. Thank you, . > > > > > > > > > > > > He never had to go the bathroom 4 times a day and get up at > > > night > > > > > for > > > > > > the same reason, which happen yesterday. Guest guest
Sheila, this probiotics are in capsules. Do you think I can just open a capsule and pour a powder? Actually a half twice a day, since that's how you have to start? Guest guest
Ahh, Sheila, I think he is getting better.. I only saw brown water (no blood) for the whole day today, which was only 2 times so far. I really want to give him more variety and also to bring his iron level higher, like liver... and start probiotics, supplements. I posted question about probiotics and when get an answer if they are legal, then I know that I can use them, but when? He is on real intro for 3 days now and his stool is not formed at all... Thank you, > > > > Mark, he also has a low frade fewer (99.2) and like strings of blood > > in his unformed stool... Guest guest
, Don't worry about the not formed stools just yet. The fact that there is no blood means there is already good progress! Several other people have more experience with the probiotics. Or you can get the yogurt starter (Progurt from GI Health) and try making the goat milk yogurt. I'm sure others will have differing opinions but I would not start probiotics just yet. You're only just starting out. Give his system some rest time -- the intro is giving his system the break it needs. Good foods to introduce now are well cooked green beans, cooked apples (the applesauce), some people introduce squash early. B. Guest guest
OK, so I will start his probiotic today with 1/4 of a capsule. Another question, should I talk to GI to switch him to azulfidine instead of Rowasa? That's what Elaine recommended... Also, he had another trip to the T and it was very dark brown (is that because his liver work harder?). May he have turkey soup instead chicken? Guest guest
Hi ; I knew it was a yeast die-off because for the previous year before that he had megarectum constipation w/ tearing screaming and bleeding, and we had just completed a yeast kill protocol (as advised by another parent) consisting of a combination of No-Fenol and GSE. It could have been a bacteria die-off though. Whatever the case I was sure the diarrhea was caused by a bad bacteria replacing whatever was there before. We've had several fevers but I couldn't ever figure out what/why, except one time when I tried to give him a bite of yogurt and his skin turned transparent and I could see blue blood veins and then he got a high fever and I had to put him in the tub. Guest guest
So, what you are saying, go slow on yogurt? I did not give him any just yet... Really do not know when to start now. He is doing his intro for the 4th day now...
