Guest guest
Hi all, What brand of fish oil do you guys recommend? I have Nordic Naturals, but it's not supplying enough (according to ARI recommendations). Does anyone know of a better brand, something SCD legal and high quality? Thanks, Lubna
Guest guest
We have used Nordic Naturals and Carlsons. Now we are doing Carlsons Cod Liver Oil after reading that Cod Liver Oil is recommended for kids on the spectrum. son,3yo,PDD-NOS, SCD one month today -------------- Original message -------------- Hi all, What brand of fish oil do you guys recommend? Guest guest
Lubna, Nordic Naturals makes many kinds of fish oil, perhaps a different formula would provide what you are looking for. Or is it possible to increase the dose of the one you are using (keeping in mind the increase in other ingredients as well) We use Nordic Naturals ProEPA with my son -- he takes 4 a day, plus Kirkman's CLO. But each child is different. Nordic Naturals is one of the best/safest fish oil companies out there. Kim > > Hi all, > > What brand of fish oil do you guys recommend? Guest guest
This is a bit OT, but I just wanted to say that fish oils and cod liver oil provided different great things for the body. The cod liver oil provides much needed vitamins A and D. The fish oils provide the Omegas. It is helpful to give both of these products. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
Sheila, I'm still confused about the CLO. If it has A and D in it, will it say on the ingredients chart on the label? If it does not specifically mention A and D, does that mean it doesn't have it? I'm not sure about the EFA's also? My son does need D. I doubt he needs a as he eats so many carrots every week. Guest guest
Would you give them together or seperately. (one in the am and one after lunch??) I am just giving CLO right now. I think I need to add EFA , right? I can't remember which one it diesn't have. I didn't notice any changes for the worse when we dropped fish oil to go to CLO. I am curious now to see if I would see benefits adding it back in. I had always assumed it was one or the other. Guest guest
I do not remember why, but you should not give the CLO at the same time as the fish oil. Both should be given with food that contains some fat. EFA's are very good. So are DHA's. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/04 > > Would you give them together or seperately. (one in the am and one after lunch??) Guest guest
Hi, Bonita, All CLO has A and D. CLO has the highest concentration of A and D per unit weight of any food (handy fact I found on the internet). mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
Hi , Any idea where you saw this? The CLO I take is processed so that it retains higher than usual levels of essential omega 3's normally found in CLO. Guest guest
Actually it turns out I was mistaken.
