Guest guest
You would swear I never set foot in my kitchen before with the questions I have had to ask! What do I set the temp at? Do I just put them in an ungreased baking dish or do I cut them in half first? Thank you! son,3yo, PDD-NOS, SCD one month today!!!!
Guest guest
I like making baked apples on the stove top. Take 3 or 4 apples, peel and slice. If you use honey just put a tablespoon( you don't have too, just add a touch of water then) Sprinkle with Cinnamon put on low heat until tender chunks or longer for applesauce. Guest guest
There's no such thing as a silly cooking question around here! I have two ways of baking apples: 1) core an apple, put in a microwave-safe bowl with a little water. Cover and microwave. Takes about 3 minutes on high, usually. Sometimes we put raisins inside the apple core and sprinkle cinnamon, but it tastes fine just plain too. 2) peel and chop up many apples, put in a glass baking dish. Drizzle honey and cinnamon on the top. Add raisins or fresh cranberries, if desired. Bake at 350 for approx. 35 minutes (apples should be nice and soft). I like a mix of red apples like macouns and macintosh, but that may be because I always forget which ones are recommended for baking and figure that if I get at least three kinds in there, the result will taste okay Ellen 10 y/o dd scd since 5/06 for Crohn's and, thankfully, doing great. Guest guest
My favorite way of making baked apples is not to bake them at all. I core them, spice them and put them in my crock pot with a little water. I usually make them at night, just before bed. In the morning, the whole house smells like apple pie and they are ready to eat. kptert wrote: You would swear I never set foot in my kitchen before with the questions I have had to ask! Guest guest
Wow! How easy is that? I will give this a try tonight. I love using my crockpot but don't have many recipes now as most of mine had some kind of creamy sauce to go with them!
