Guest guest
I just can't find a source of goat's milk right now, most people I have talked to won't have any until spring. Anyway, I guess I will have to start the acidophilus powder untill I am able to start the yogart. My question is; Should I give the acidophilus in capsules or open the capsule into water or juice? If you have to open the capsules , wouldn't it be better to just get a powder form that doesn't contain additional fillers and stuff? I just want to be sure I get the right stuff, I can't afford another mistake with supplements.

Kirkmans has cellulose and silicon dioxide. If you don't use these keep in mind that Elaine recomended that SCDers stick with only L. acidophilus in (bacteria) probiotic supplement. S. boulardii is also okay. Another option until you get goat milk to make the yogurt is to use the legal starter and make some fermented veggies (sauerkraut kimchi) Even if the veggies themselves are to advanced you can use the juices filled with good bacteria. <<<<I just want to be sure I get the right > stuff, I can't afford another mistake with supplements.>>>> Lots of great info at http://www.pecanbread.com/new/probiotics1.html http://www.pecanbread.com/new/slowprobiotic1.html http://www.pecanbread.com/new/yprobiotic1.html Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23yrs, PCOD 22yrs mom of and
Guest guest
I buy Meyenberg Goat Milk. It comes in either canned or powdered, I buy the powdered. In NM and AZ both Wild Oats (now Whole Foods) or Sunflower Markets carry it. They have a website www.MEYENBERG.com. One can order it from there and the cost is the same as in the store. --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo! Search. Guest guest
--------------------------------------------------------------------- Actually I have seen this in the store (liquid) I just figured it wouldn't make as good a yogart as raw milk. I will consider that, thank you... Patti G. -------------------------------------------------------------------- > I buy Meyenberg Goat Milk.
