Guest guest
I would also like to know the same thing about the yogurt. Also, if the yogurt is frozen, are the bacteria reduced or killed? Thank You, Diane D. 11yr dd w/Crohn's Question about yogurt in baking We are taking 1/8 tsp. of yogurt for now; one son has moved to 1/4 tsp. But I made two quarts a week ago before we started taking it at night. Can the yogurt that's sitting in my fridge be used in recipes even if we're only on small therapeutic amounts of the live yogurt? Once I bake with it, it kills the beneficial bacteria, right? But it could come in handy to make cream of carrot soup or in baked goods. IF I'm allowed to use it. Any suggestions? Whisk over low heat until simmering then add grated cheese. I like to add some paprika (sometimes a dash of cayenne) for flavour and colour. Guest guest
> > Hi Cathe, > > Yes. ARe you doing other dairy (DCCC or cheese...)? > Cooking/baking will kill the bacteria. I just found Farmer's Cheese at Whole Foods this week. Bought one little thing of it and we tasted it, then I put it in the freezer. Didn't want to eat it all up right away! Haven't found DCCC yet. We were doing cheese but it made my yeast act up, and I'm keeping my boys and myself pretty much on everything together, so none of us is doing cheese. But...I put some yogurt in our scrambled eggs this morning and it was wonderful! Added some basil and voila! a gourmet taste! > I make a cheese sauce with equal parts legal mayo & yogurt. With dripped yogurt and the mayo and the paprika, it would be okay for us with veggies, I would think. Thanks Sheila!!
