Hi ,

No, amoxicillin does not kill yeast. Unfortunately, when on

antibiotics yeast often increase as the bacteria numbers decrease.

Specifically, lists of amoxicillin side effects includes yeast

infection/thrush. example: http://www.drugs.com/amoxicillin.html You

may want to take natural antifungals or at least have them ready to

add if you see signs of yeast overgrowth beginning.

S. boulardii can help prevent overgrowth by harmful bacteria or yeast

when you need to take antibiotics. Also some people take either

yogurt (or fermented foods) and/or probiotics between the doses of

the antibiotic to replenish the microflora with good bacteria.

Information about natural antifungals and/or S. boulardii/probiotics

can be found at:

http://pecanbread.com/new/yeast.html (antifungals)

http://pecanbread.com/new/probiotics1.html (S. boulardii & probiotics)

If you have any questions about this info...ask away. This can get

pretty confusing.
