Guest guest
Hi everyone, I AM SO EXCITED! I weighed myself yesterday and I am 12 whole pounds lighter!! I know it is water weight but I also know it will NEVER come back. Yeah!! I am almost 1 week post op and I am so sick of chicken soup and juice!!. I really want to try some creamed soups but the manual we should " probably " stay away from them. I have never dumped or had any nausea. Any advise from my fellow post ops? I really need a little variety in my diet. I know 1 more week and I can have soft foods but 1 week seems like forever right now...HELP!!! Guest guest
Tammy: I know its hard to stay on the soups and juice. I thought I could do it for 2 months.....yeah right!!! Try your best to stay on them at least until your 10 day mark. On my 10th day I tried a little mashed potatoes and I was so excited......LOL Then each day after that I gradually moved into different things. Creamy soups did not sit with me well and to this day they still don't. Now I can eat almost anything I want........at least a few bites of it. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Tamara Congratulations on your weight loss! Isn't it exciting?! Hve you been eating tomato soup? Yogurt? V8 juice? Sugar free/fat free fudgesicles and popsicles? These are all helping me make it through. And remember that it is only for short time. Unlike all the other " diets " I have been on which were supposed to last forever. We went to some Christmas parties and it was tough passing up the shrimp and chicken wings. But I told myself - this is the only Christmas I will have to say no. I ate my yogurt and concentrated on other things. Guest guest
Tammy, I was a lot like you, Honey. I wanted something different the very next day.. tired of eating jello, and especially yogurt real soon, I added some vegtable soup, but only ate a few small bites of the actual veggies., and I some frozen fruit thingies that helped alot, with small pieces of fruit.. I started mushy things at about 10 dys, like mashed potatoes.. could have 2 bites, but wow, I loved it!! Don't worry, be careful, eat slowly, feel what is happening inside your new tummy, and you should do just fine. Trudy 12 pounds already!!! Hi everyone, I AM SO EXCITED! Guest guest
Tammy, what has worked for me is having a variety of different juices and gatorades to choose from. I bought some Dole pineapple, banana, orange juice today and it tasted like heaven. I mix my Citracel (sugar free) with orange gatorade and I would just about kill anyone who tried to take it away from me. That's how good it taste. I also bought some Dole sugar free juice popsicles, those taste good too. I have been lucky that I don't really have to dilute anything. Maybe the doctor would allow you to take some fruit (bananas, frozen strawberries) and juice and mix it in the blender for a smoothie. I haven't felt that I am missing anything yet. I am 6 days post op and I have lost 18#. Yeah!! Good luck and stick in there. The longer you can stay on juice, the better for you stomach and the scales!! ~Mich
