What foods is he eating? How long has there been the chunky stools? Any new foods introduced before the chunky stools started? Guest guest
He has been GFCF for 6 months and we just decided to go SCD but not with the intro diet. We are just trying to eliminating complex carbs. He's had the watery chunky BM's for a few weeks now I don't think he started to eat anything new since he rarely eats anything new. His diet includes eggs Namaste Waffles & Muffins (we are trying to eliminate them now) apples with no skin bananas grilled chicken or Applegate turkey or chicken hot dogs hamburger pork chops Dr. Praeger's fish sticks (we are now going to eliminate these) steamed carrots Veggie Meatloaf baked sweet potato - ate once, won't eat again steamed peas - ate once, won't eat again Ener-G pretzels (we are now going to eliminate these too) GFCF cookies
Guest guest
Are those applegate hotdogs legal? Guest guest
Hi cmas, > > He has been GFCF for 6 months and we just decided to go SCD but not > with the intro diet. We are just trying to eliminating complex carbs. > > He's had the watery chunky BM's for a few weeks now > > I don't think he started to eat anything new since he rarely eats > anything new. > > His diet includes>>>> Since you aren't 100% SCD yet it may be the starches and illegal sugars he is getting. I made some notes below for areas to look into (Some of the notes are to clarify for other newbies reading this post): <<<eggs > Namaste Waffles & Muffins (we are trying to eliminate them now)>>> Illegal. > apples with no skin > bananas>>>> Should be yellow and ripe with brown spots/freckles - otherwise still too starchy. > grilled chicken or Applegate turkey or chicken hot dogs>>> I don't think the applegate hot dogs are legal. What are the ingredients now? Make sure your chicken is 100%. Many have sugars etc, injected or are marinated in a illegal broth before raining and packaging. << hamburger > pork chops>> Make sure meats are not seasoned. You can season them with legal ingredients at home. <<<< Dr. Praeger's fish sticks (we are now going to eliminate these) >>> Illegal. <<<<steamed carrots>>>> If carrots are new for him; many children need carrots cooked until very tender when they first start the diet. Some even require them cooked as per chicken soup recipe (4 hours) and pureed. This often hekps with the digestion and gives better stools. > Veggie Meatloaf <<<<> baked sweet potato - ate once, won't eat again>>> Sweet potatoes are illegal. Winter Squash are a good substitie > steamed peas - ate once, won't eat again > Ener-G pretzels (we are now going to eliminate these too)>> Illegal > GFCF cookies>>> Illegal. Both onion and garlic powder can contain hidden starches. I have a very GOOD hot dog recipe if folks are interested. In fact, my husband, who loves his hot dogs, was helping me roll out mine, and I commented that now he could have hot dogs again. He looked at me (having tasted the test 'dog) and said, " I you think I am going to eat store-bought, junk-filled hot dogs when you are sitting there eating goos SCD hot dogs, think again! " TO which I said, " Good thing you volunteered to help with these, isn't it?
