Guest guest
Sheila, Thanks for all your help off list. My son has consistent BM's in logs. He finally seems to be over that tremendous set back he was having. Looking back I really think it was the Phenol Assist Companion along with the normal 3 month regression. I had no idea that " dysbiosis " would cause that much trouble. I will definitely check and re-check the approved supp list from now on. I thought I had but must have really been wrong. With the help of Phenol-Assist, I have been able to start giving him orange juice and pineapple juice. (Yeah! He's not allergic to them!) He still can't tolerate tomatoes due to sal's even with the Phenol-Assist. We are very slowly going up on the dripped yogurt. He stays on the dosage for 4-7 days before we increase. Don't want to take a chance on going too fast and having another big regression or problems. I have also been able to give him a little nut butter in the form of muffins. Starting that slowly also. He's desperately wanting more variety. Gets old having green beans and carrots for lunch and dinner everyday for 5 months. Thanks for all your help. Is there a typical time pattern of regressions past 3 months? I really want to be prepared if that's possible. Bonita son - SCD 5 months, Asperger's, OCD, ADHD, Dyslexia, highly sal sensitive, food allergies

More often is the 3 month regression at about 3 mos. I'd say that could be anywhere from 20-40% of people doing SCD. It doesn't count regressions from mistakes (which is what I did) or infractions of the diet. It ***really*** helps to keep some kind of food journal at least in the first year when this type of setback can happen. It is one of the best ways to prepare for a posible regression/flare. The food journal will alert you if a slow regression is creeping up - which allows you to jump on the problem before it 'snowballs'. It also gives you a list of the food that are best digested for you or your child if a regression/flare occurs. <<<<Bonita > son - SCD 5 months, Asperger's, OCD, ADHD, Dyslexia, highly sal sensitive, food allergies>>>> Thanks for the great update- I am so glad that you stuck with it - you really went through a hard patch. Guest guest
Sheila, He's at 1/4 tsp dripped yogurt and I am going to move him up to either a heaping 1/4 tsp or all the way to a 1/2 tsp in the next 2 days. He gets so excited when I give him his yogurt. He eats the stuff plain. He thinks its such a treat. I have a hard time getting the spoon away from him.
