Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I came across Dr. R's website and group after seeing the Carnie story in a magazine and doing a web search. I live in Cary NC (next to Chapel Hill) and have been researching surgery as a possible solution to my obesity. I have lots of questions. LOTS of questions... Many of you are kind enough to share your stories via this eGroup, I really appreciate your candidness. Like many that I have read, I have been overweight my whole life and have mastered the art of the yo-yo diets. At 42, I find myself in a unique situation, I have a ULTRA high maintenance family, (3 children, one with ADD and 2 with Autism) and a husband whose IQ is over 200 but struggles with the children's disabilities. Much of the children's specials needs falls to me. I am a strong advocate but unfortunately my ULTRA endurance is GONE! At over 300 lbs presently I work. Most of my life I really didn't feel like the excess weight was holding me back at all. I did all I wanted to. The last few years have been horrible. I crabwalk down stairs, tire after a short time on my feet, have difficulty lifting my children for any length of time and find myself more sedentary than I ever have. Though once limber, I now struggle just putting on my socks and shoes. It is my hope that through this news group some of my questions will be answered. I will need to find 10 of you patient enough answer my questions... anyone out there willing?? TO all of you who are about to cross over... My best wishes for your future health and happiness.
