Guest guest
: The less you have to make the better. If its an option or available to you, I recommend TRADER JOES as an inexpensive source of LEGAL peanutbutter that tastes awsome. They have two kinds, I like the one made from Valencia peanuts best. Also, you can buy tomato paste there that is LEGAL for a better way to make ketchup. Easier to add water than to have to reduce for hours with tomato juice! Other health food stores may fit the bill too, But these items at TRADER JOE'S are cheap and they list EVERYTHING on their labels so you can be sure you are getting the right product. (you still need to read ingredients). If not avail. then I guess you're back to making it from scratch. Guest guest
Here's an easy recipe for peanut or any nut butter. (From Alton Brown on Foodnetwork.com) 15 ounces shelled and skinned roasted peanuts 1 teaspoon kosher salt 1 1/2 teaspoons honey 1 1/2 tablespoons peanut oil Place the peanuts, salt and honey into the bowl of a food processor. Process for 1 minute. Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Place the lid back on and continue to process while slowly drizzling in the oil and process until the mixture is smooth, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Place the peanut butter in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 months. Debbie 38 crohn's scd 1/

Guest guest
Hi! I am not a moderator, but I am pretty positive that all canned tomato paste is Illegal. It takes a while to boil down campbells tomato juice, but that's how I make it. You could do it in big batches and freeze small portions for later use. (I know it is frustrating to boil it all down to only get a tiny amount...) Also, as a parent of a lead toxic boy, I gave up all canned items after diagnosis. I also no longer use nonstick pans. :-( It makes pancakes in our house sheer torture to make, but it is what our doctor recommends. I hate the amount of salt in canned tomato juice. I lost the sauce from 150 or so pounds of heirloom tomatoes that I peeled, seeded, and boiled down after Hurricane Katrina, and I haven't managed to make anything except boiled down tomato juice since. I put a splatter screen over it to let the steam out and keep splashes in while boiling. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
