Lynette, Did I understand correctly that you are having the MGB with a

doctor in VA? Other than curiosity, I'm asking because I live in an NC

county that borders Virginia and might run across folks who want the

surgery in VA. What part of the state? Thanks,

Beverly in NC

Hi Beverly, my name is . I just saw an ad for MGB. I live in N.J. and

Virginia would be better for me. Did your friend ever give you the name of

the Dr. in Virginia? How long ago did you have your operation and what are

your results? I'd appreciate hearing from you, Thanks

Beverly,

Sorry to say, I am not having the MGB, but the RNY. My PCP referred me to a Dr.

in VA Beach, VA. He spent about 45 min to an hour talking with me about the

procedure, the risks and benefits, and was impressed with the info I got from

Dr. R's site. He was glad that I had taken the time to investigate and be sure

that WLS was something that I wanted (as well as needed). I see him again on

Jan 8 for my pre-admit appointment, then my surgery is set for Jan 11. He

talked with me about the MGB/RNY and of course with all surgeries there is a

risk. If I could afford the " down payment " , time off work to travel, room

expenses and all I would have gone to Dr. R in NC, but as it is I can't. I

didn't have any problems with my PCP, he is supportive also, nor did I have

problems with the insurance, was approved the first time around (it did take

them about 45 days to approve me). I hope you find what you are looking for, it

is a long hard row to hoe. Check all your options, funds, etc. I am glad to

have found this site and some of the people in it.

Best of luck to you!!!
